As a freshman going into his first year of high-school, I was anxious of how the next four years of my life would play out. Not having many friends I decided it would be best to join a sport so I choose to join Cross Country. I already knew a few people who said they enjoyed it throughout middle-school so I figured what was the worst that could happen. That later became one of the best decisions I made throughout high-school. Through XC I’ve made so many friends and memories that I will remember for the rest of my life. If there’s anything I would say to a kid going into highschool, I would tell them to step out of there comfort zone and try to make as many friends as possible. It might be one of the best decisions you ever make.

Some of the best experiences have been how much the teachers truly care about all of the students. You can tell that they care about your mental health and your academics.

As a Maple Grove senior high student, I’ve chosen a path that is interactive with what the school has to offer. As a large school there is so many opportunities for clubs, sports, and courses; I’m grateful to every experience I’ve lived through at Maple Grove because I’ve become a better person; I’ve learned teamwork and how to compromise. I’ve developed a positive attitude and built synergistic environments for the benefit of all. Maple Grove has encouraged me to make a positive impact even in challenging circumstances, there’s no place I’d rather be. I’m forever thankful to principal Becker, my counsellor Mrs Hernandez, and my favourite teachers; Mr. Detloff, Mr. Martin, Mr. Gau, Mr. Hennessey, Mrs. Rider, Mrs Gates, Mrs Toms, and Mr. Olson. I believe in high school you get out what you put in; I’m a proud member of link crew, NHS, and FCA; I’m a proud AP scholar that continues to challenge myself on my academic journey, and I’m sorrowful my journey is almost over.

Maple Grove Senior High is a good school. The school's student culture and pride is just like the movies. The students partake in all activities and we have one of the best art, theatre, and sports department in the state with a mountain of awards in each. Maple Grove is filled to the brim with talented students and staff that help foster these gifts and care for them as if we were their own children. Maple Grove Senior High isn't just a school, it's a family.

Overall, I enjoyed my time at Maple Grove Senior High School! I made many friends and was a cheerleader for my first two years of high school. I felt supported by my coach, my friends, my teachers, and my counselors. While the food wasn't great, I have many memories of talking with my friends during lunch and going to our school dances, which were held in the cafeteria. I was involved in choir and was part of a community that made me feel welcome and helped shape me into who I am today. Maple Grove Senior High played a large role in my life and I'm so grateful for the experiences I've had while attending there.
